What is Workers Compensation Insurance?
At the heart of the Workers' Compensation system is the exchange of a worker's right to sue their employer for
employment related injuries for the benefits provided by the Workers' Compensation statutes. These benefits are the
responsibility of the employer who usually transfers this responsibility to a private insurer or a state fund.
Workers' compensation is a “no fault” system. An injured employee does not have to prove the employer was
negligent for the accident to be compensated for his or her injury.
Policy Part One- Workers Compensation Insurance
In order for a bodily injury by accident, disease or death to be covered under Part One, the event must occur during
the policy period.
Policy Part Two- Employers Liability Insurance
Employers Liability coverage exists to provide employers with insurance against employee claims for damages that
are not covered under the Workers' Compensation Laws.
This insurance protects the employer for Common Law liability or damages other than Workers' Compensation
benefits.
